Woodside artist JUSTIN HOLT...
…was born in Melbourne in 1971 and raised in Perth.
As a young adult Justin studied building design and moved back to Melbourne for several years before travelling overseas.
Returning to Perth in March 1996 after living in Europe, Justin began oil painting under the instruction of prominent Western Australian artist Tony McAlinden.
Trained in impressionist landscape painting, Justin’s art has developed to combine his passion of architecture and eye for perspective. His work is precise, considered, distinctive, thoughtful and often combined with a sense of humour and irony.
In order to become a full time artist Justin ceased his successful building design practice five years ago and moved to Woodside with his wife, Ali.
Justin has works in private collections around Australia and overseas, has proudly sold through Kozminsky’s Gallery and has displayed in several joint and solo exhibitions. The most recent solo exhibition “Changing Perspective” was held at the Yarram Courthouse Gallery during March and April 2016.
Justin has been shortlisted for the John Leslie Art Prize 2016 at the Gippsland Art Gallery and has an upcoming solo exhibition at the Maffra Exhibition Space in April and May 2017.
Justin enjoys volunteering his time & skill teaching oil painting to Woodside Primary School students.
He sells his work privately from his studio in Woodside. Justin accepts commissions and is happy to be contacted on 0403 021 472 or firstname.lastname@example.org
